Bo rn and raised in Brooklyn and Queens, Barbara Res is the child of a homemaker and a clerk.  She attended public schoo​ls and studied Electrical Engineering at The City College of New York.  Upon graduation Res went to work for an electrical contractor and learned drafting, estimating and project management.  She then went to work for a general contractor where she learned to estimate and review claims in the mechanical fields and for structural and architectural trades, working on the Citicorp Center building.  Res transferred to the Grand Hyatt Hotel construction site where she worked as mechanical superintendent and later, as Superintendent in  charge of field operations for the ballrooms and hotel kitchen.  The Grand Hyatt is where Res met Donald Trump who hired her to be Vice President of the Trump Organization, in charge of building the iconic Trump Tower building.  Res left the Trump Organization and built a building to house Hartz NY headquarters.  In recognition of her contribution, her name was inscribed on the buildings cornerstone.  Upon completion, Res returned to the Trump Organization as Executive Vice President in charge of development and construction overseeing several development and construction projects including the restoration of the Plaza Hotel in NYC.   As Vice President of Operations for Club Quarters Hotels,  Res supervised Construction and Development Projects in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Austin and London.  In 2004, Res enrolled in law school and was  admitted to the NJ Bar in December 2007 and the NY Bar in January 2008.  She has served as General Counsel to Integrated Water Technologies Inc. and arbitrates and mediates for the American Arbitration Association and for the courts in NY and NJ and for private clients.  Res is the lead construction adviser for Digibuild, a groudbreaking new project management platform.
